My parents would tease me "parang ipis kumain" and my boyfriend would give second thoughts to dine at any eat-all-you-can restos. But lo and behold, my appetite suddenly increased with Soban K-Town Grill! I have a lot of mouth-watering photos of their foods, you got to brace yourselves and believe me!
Soban means small tray or table.
Soban K-Town Grill is a collaboration between award-winning Korean restaurateur, Mr. Sung Rah and his Philippine franchisee, the Happyfoods Group of Restaurants. Together with sisters Donna Tan-Ng, Dorothy Tan-Dee, and Diana Tan-David, they collaborated and introduced Soban K-Town Grill that brings that Korean experience with a mix of East and west style.
Their menu was born out of a desire to create an evolution on Korean cuisine. They have Korean Beef, Pork and Chicken Barbecue but also serve playful dishes with a twist like American and Mexican ingredients and taste.
I'm not sure how to pronounce the names of the food in the menu (I'm no Korean, sorry! haha) but nevermind the pronunciation. I'm sure you'll forget it anyway once you taste the foods!
Here's the raw Samgyupsal (pork belly)

Woo Samgyup (beef bacon)
Grilled USDE Choice fresh beef belly 430php
They will give the raw meat to you and you can cook it yourself with the grill! The staff were so helpful with helping me though they also have a how-to guide in cooking at the side of the table. The owners were there too and even offered to help!
Once you're done cooking, cut the meat in thumb size pieces.
You can eat it alone, with plain rice/kimchi rice or you can wrap it with lettuce like what I did!
It has a dipping sauce served on the side. But you know what? Even without dipping them with sauce, you can still taste the goodness of the meat! I almost finish all of 'em! so takaw, haha!
If you'll order the combo set, it comes with unlimited egg roll appetizers, plain rice (add 20php if you want to upgrade to kimchi rice), mashed potato, and Bone Marrow Soup.
Japchae
Stir-fried Korean vermicelli noodles with assorted fresh vegetables. You can pair your meats with this one instead of rice if you're not a rice person. It's really good!
KIMCHI FRIES for only 199php!
It's a mix of kimchi, roasted pork bits and cheese. I love how crispy the fries and how creamy the cheese is. I'm almost full the time it was served but it tempted me to eat more.
They served COFFEE PRINCE for our dessert. 120php
Coffee ice cream top with chocolate and graham-crust sandwich filled with Korean red bean at the bottom. The presentation is just perfect. I love how the dessert was so instagram-worthy and the taste never failed too. It's not too sweet, and the beans are not too overpowering.
ICE CREAM TRIO
Scoop of Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, and Coffee ice cream 135php
I tried the Vanilla since it's my fave. It's really good, plus it's creamy - just like what I wanted!
Gorgeous sisters Donna Tan-Ng, Dorothy Tan-Dee, and Diana Tan-David of Soban K-town Grill with Aldous Team
Here's my outfit of the day. Literally hiding my tummy since I ate so much and it's obviously big! haha. I will definitely come back with my friends/family. I can't wait to try their K-Taco! I heard it was one of the crowd's favorites too.
